A Home for many sessions
Release z.4: a Home view with recent sessions and an activity log, starred sessions, and agents that mark their own session as done over MCP.
Before 1.0, Splitkick shipped as JeanZ, a fork of Jean. This post is about JeanZ z.4, the largest release of the fork.
With many sessions running in many projects, the hard question is not “what is this agent doing” but “where was I”. z.4 answers it with one place to start from.
What z.4 added
- Home. A start view with your recent sessions across all projects and an activity log of what the agents did while you were elsewhere.
- Starred sessions. Star the ones you come back to; they stay on top.
- Agents mark themselves done. Over the app’s own MCP server an agent can set its session to complete when it has finished. You read the result instead of watching the status dot.
- ⌘K with tabs. Sessions and Projects as separate tabs in the command palette.
What z.4 fixed
- A dev build no longer writes into the installed app’s data folder.
- macOS stops asking “would like to access data from other apps” on every start.
Small print
z.5, three hours later, added Back / Go to / Forward in the title bar and put Home into columns. Same day, same theme.
