About

The power-user edition of Jean.

Splitkick is built on Jean, the open-source agent workspace by coolLabs. We use it every day for code, company data and writing — and kept adding what we missed.

Why a separate edition

Jean is a great base: agents in worktrees, a clean desktop app, a headless server. We wanted more: a phone layout that works, one window per remote host, a preview pane for the files our agents produce, plan approval and agent questions, and faster releases. Some of that is too opinionated for upstream. So Splitkick ships it, and sends the generic fixes back.

Who makes it

Planetfall Software, Regensburg, Germany. Splitkick is free and stays free. We pay our own agent subscriptions like you do.

Licence

Jean is published by Andras Bacsai and coolLabs under the Apache License 2.0. Splitkick keeps that licence and that credit. The source is on GitHub ↗.
